Many athletes possess a strong desire to improve their competitive results, regardless of whether they compete at amateur or elite levels. Nutrition can play a big role in improving athletic performance, but in my experience as a sports dietitian and nutritionist it doesn’t always come first to mind.
As part of my Professional Doctorate at Liverpool John Moores University I am researching what endurance athletes at all levels know and believe about fuelling for optimal performance during competition.
I’m aiming to recruit over 2000 athletes from all corners of the world who regularly train and race in cycling, running or triathlon events. This could be a local half-marathon to races at a national or international level – it all counts!
Help me to understand what you know about fuelling for performance by filling out the survey now.
Completing the survey in full will give you a score out of 100 as well as identify areas where your race day nutrition knowledge could improve. Making tweaks and adjustments to the way you fuel can lead to big improvements in your performance. Much bigger than you may realise!
